Business is about people. As a communications specialist, I connect people to your business through the production of great content. Whether that means copy writing and editing, video production or interactive Web content, I tell stories that get people talking and engage employees.

My goal is to connect people wherever they are, however they want to engage.


Internal Communication Specialist (February 2012 - Present)

Brinker International Restaurants, Dallas, TX

Strategic planning of and for Brinker International's internal communication initatives. Current duties include maintenance of company intranets, writing, editing and distribution of company newsletter and internal communication platform planning. In addition to these roles, I also heavily involved in the design and maintenance of internal people branding initiatives, internal video production and the maintenance of externally facing websites.

Global Training Communications Intern (June 2011 - February 2012)

Brinker International Restaurants, Dallas, TX

Served as the principle planner and user interface designer for an internal communications overhaul allowing Brinker International to communicate with global franchisees more efficiently. Worked with platform vendors, information technology and marketing departments.

Communications Intern (June 2010 - December 2010)

The Village Church, Flower Mound, TX

Worked as a strategic communications specialist for a large, multi-campus church. Duties included editing and writing content for bulletins, blogs, Web, Bible study curriculum and promotional material for various church events. Also assisted in the production and layout of printed materials.

Graphic and logo design (September 2010)

Freelance - Renegade Technologies, Midland, TX

Created a logo for a startup computer-repair business in Midland, TX.

Graphic and logo design (April 2010)

Freelance - Rowe Media, Houston, TX

Created a logo for a startup audio-consulting firm based out of Houston, TX.

Copy editor (January 2009 — May 2009)

The Oklahoma Daily, Norman, OK

Worked as a member of a copy editor team to ensure the distribution of accurate information following proper Associated Press style. Assisted in page edits and gave critique on design elements and story flow. Wrote headlines, decks and cutlines using a “first-five-graphs” style designed to capture the reader’s attention and encourage in-depth reading of the story.

Reporter (January 2009 — May 2009)

The OU Nightly, Norman, OK

Worked as a shift reporter for the University of Oklahoma’s nightly broadcast news production, The OU Nightly. Produced and edited video content, conducted interviews and gathered news for broadcast.

Staff Writer (August 2007 — April 2008)

The Oklahoma Daily, Norman, OK

Worked as a writer/reporter for the University of Oklahoma student newspaper, The Oklahoma Daily. First covered the local museum beat and later Norman city beat as well as general reporting. Gained skills as both a hard-news and features writer/reporter.
